Put simply both are ways to visually communicate and represent information. So whilst infographics are not a new thing the term has become a bit of a buzzword again. So I thought I’d show you a few examples of where you may find an infographic is the perfect solution.
Firstly though it’s important to mention don’t think about using an infographic unless you have something to say. You can’t make great visual communication without both components the visual AND the communication.
Know what you’re going to say and make it clear. Before starting the design process define your message, compress the data or information, and determine what it is you want your infographic to achieve.
And as Anne Handley says in Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Infographics, your infographics “should be concise, creative and educational, conveying a burst of data in an eye-catching, succinct, portable package.”
