Ethical design style for conscious law brand and publications.
A beautiful brand with a design full of value, for Elaine Quinn, Editor in Chief, The Conscious Lawyer, London.
Elaine’s question: “I came across your freelance graphic design agency today when I was searching for ethical design agencies. I am a part-time freelance lawyer in the process of founding a magazine-style publication on new and emerging initiatives in law that have as their core purpose the promotion of wellbeing (whether of humans, animals, nature or the earth itself).
I require design assistance in developing the first edition of the magazine i.e. branding, template design and layout. As an initial step, I will need to know more about what would be required and associated costs.”

What we did: Kicking off with our brand discovery quiz we were able to support Elaine to prepare her brand strategy and story. After a process of consultation and brand archetype profiling, we began to translate this strategy into the visual identity. This included creating the logo design, colour system, typographic hierarchy, brand consistent photography filters and branded stationery including a business card and letterhead.
With the strategy and identity in place, we got to work creating a master template for Elaine’s magazine. The design takes on board the perception Elaine wants to create for the brand and presents a professional yet approachable publication which inspires — download this beautiful magazine here. Whilst typesetting the copy we got sucked into the content and can’t recommend The Conscious Lawyer highly enough if you’re keen to find out who and what is trailblazing in the world of ethical law.
Moving forward into the marketing phase we continue to produce flyers, posters and adverts for the brand which help Elaine to present a consistent image for her social media and digital marketing activities. We were particularly impressed with the newbie to our team Daniel’s animation for The Conscious Lawyer logo reveal which was an eye-catcher when it came to facebook and twitter post engagement.
It doesn’t stop there. As Elaine continues on her lean growth start-up business plans we will be helping her with the website design and an advertising media kit.
