Brand character for Ben Cleary at Lanchester Wines brand, The Pip Stop.
Ben’s question: “I need a label design for my own brand range of wines which ties in with the 1950s Morgan Garage setting of our store.”
Ben’s thoughts: “At our grand opening we sold out of Miss Pipstop and the Grease Monkey. They are going extremely well and people love that we have our own brand that looks so good – massive thumbs up. The design has given us a real individual look and they really match in with the store.” Ben Cleary, Sales Director Lanchester Wines
What we did: This range is now The Pip Stop’s best seller, pretty sure it’s down to the label design.
We looked at various ideas related to recognisable 1950s memorabilia and advertising. The initial concepts were quite different from the final result and included quirky one liners similar to those you see in 1950s poster ads.
What worked well for the project was to start with this ‘everything’ approach and then refine into a simpler design that was fit for purpose. Born out of it were these 3 key characters whose stories will continue to grow as the brand develops.
