Women’s Lives Leeds (WLL’s) Question: “We have recently launched our new website which includes an online directory of services available to women and girls in Leeds.
We want some publicity materials to promote the new website, and specifically the directory. The style must be aligned with our website branding. There will be 3 separate materials to be designed: Sticker – small, discreet sticker that can be stuck on the inside of female toilet cubicles. A4 poster – targeting women and girls. A6 flyer — targeting organisations that work with women and girls.”
What we did: This was our first project with WLL and initially we worked hard to get to know their ethos.
One of our pet hates is when brands jump from one style to another as it causes confusion for their audience. So our first job was to reflect on previous design work they’d had done, looking at commonalities we could connect in order to start providing them with a consistent approach to marketing.
Typography and colour were kept simple and we looked carefully at how photography and messaging could be used to portray the key project values of ‘diversity’, ‘non-aggressive’ and dynamic.
The result was this lovely YouBeYou hashtag and a set of branded materials that are easily recognised as coming from the Women’s Lives Leeds initiative.
