Branding ethical property developments with professional logo design
The challenge: “Northumberland Ltd are a new property development company based in Morpeth. Our first project will renovate a much loved local heritage building. We’d like help with the brand identity, website and marketing materials.” Gary, Northumberland Ltd
Client feedback: “We’ve been working with Helen and her team at One Line for the last 13 months as we pull together a blended brand and marketing package for our property development company, Northumberland Ltd.
Not only have One Line produced a brilliant, modern and fresh Logo that we’ll use for many years to come but Helen has also helped us with our website, brochures, banners, site boards, business cards and letterheads – basically the works!
I’ve always found Helen, indeed the whole team, a pleasure to deal with and responsive to all of our needs. I’d have no problem in recommending One Line to any small to medium-sized business looking for a quality design firm that can be relied upon!” Gary Herron, Director
What we did: Our ethical ears pricked up when we heard about this property development project from an associate, Gary Herron. It’s a pet hate of ours seeing old buildings in the UK deteriorate and waste when so many people can’t afford a home. Northumberland Ltd is transforming a beautiful heritage building into quality residential homes which will be sympathetically restored to keep all the rich historic features. We worked closely with Gary and his team to develop a meaningful brand identity.
The inspiration for the logo route is taken from ribbons, which are often used to convey messages of quality and movement. They can also create physical forms which can be found in architectural structures from domestic interiors to pitched roofs.
The strapline allows the company to talk about provenance and in a simple line explains not just what they do but where they’re based and therefore why they’re called Northumberland Ltd.
Even better: Northumberland Ltd is protecting heritage sites from destruction.

Property development may not be known for its creative approach to branding. But as cities from Leeds and Manchester to London undergo rapid re-generation, would your property developer benefit from investing in a logo design and brand identity that is distinctive and engaging to local residents, potential buyers and investors?
